INTRODUCTION
The papaya tree (Carica papaya) is a tree plant in the Caricaceae family, native to Central and South America. The species is now present in all tropical regions and prized for its very fragrant yellow, orange or reddish pulp fruit with a sweet taste. With a size varying from two (02) to ten (10) meters and an average life cycle of 2 years, the species contributes to the economic growth of certain countries such as India and Ivory Coast. In Benin, a particular enthusiasm for its production has been observed in recent years with an increase in the number of producers, given the nutritional and economic importance of the species.
